Description

The ambition of the Lightcube Retrospective is to conduct a journey, a lengthy voyage through the filmography of an important, as opposed to 'great', director and ensure a brief overview and introduction to his work through the exhibition of a number of his films. The showing of the films will also be accompanied by discussions, video-essays, exhibitions and printed-material on the work of the director or idea in question.

The grandfather is alone in his room, ill and confined to his bed. The mother receives her lover. The child attempts to amuse himself, registers everything in silence before hiding out in the garden where he begins to make drawings of the various flowers. When the movie opens, a woman is recalling the events that molded her perspective on the world. Meeting her husband's visiting friend from college, a leader of an economic rebellion against the British, she takes up his political cause, despite her husband’s warnings.
