Mobile Men, The Story of Migrants
We hosted the third edition of the Blue Dot sessions at our space in Malviya Nagar Saturday, on the 24th of September, at 4:30 PM. The session focused on the mobilisation of rural population to the cities, especially in the context of this phenomena transpiring in the matrix that involves a migrant population from Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar moving to New Delhi.
The rundown for the evening was as follows:
4:30 PM: Engaging with the space, discussion / casual conversation with new attendees.
4:45 PM: Screening of the Dhenuki Cinema Project film (21')
5:05 PM: Opening talk by Siba Barkataki, PhD scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University on the subject of migration, its historical precedents, contemporary associations from around the world.
5:30 PM - 5:45 PM: Food/beverage, discussion
6 PM - 6:30 PM: Sharing of stories by invited guests, members of the migrant population.
6:30 PM: Screening of Sourav Sarangi's 'Char' (2012, 88')
8 PM - 8:15 PM: Closing notes, discussion
